Additional questions for Earnr users before submission
Thank you for using Earnr to file your tax return.
There are a few extra questions that could affect your return.
When reviewing your draft tax return, let us know if any of these apply to you.
General
- This tax return is an amendment, ie you have already filed a return for this year and want to submit an update
- Your name, address or postcode has changed in the last 12 months
- Any of the amounts given in your tax return are provisional
- You wish to add any attachments to your submission with further information, or if there is further information to enter
Paying tax or getting a refund
- You think a repayment may be due and want to receive a refund via bank transfer
- You owe less than £3,000 (excluding Class 2 NICs) and you don't want HMRC to collect your tax through wages or pension by adjusting your tax code for next year (tax returns filed after December would typically require a direct payment anyway)
Calculating tax due (this is not essential for the filing, but reflects what tax payments are due)
- Your tax code changed during the year (eg you received a P2 coding notice) - this would typically only be if you were employed
- You made payments on account
Lower earners
- You have low income and may want to make voluntary national insurance contributions (see here - if you're not sure if this applies to you we can check as part of the filing process)
- Your income is below the personal allowance of £12,570 and you wish to transfer some of your personal allowance to your spouse or civil partner
Higher earners
- Your income is greater than £50k and you or your partner receive Child Benefit
If none of these applies, please proceed with the instructions in the email sent to you.
